Ryan is majoring in civil engineering and in mathematics, he is also pursuing a minor in Environmental Sustainability & Studies at The University of Utah. Amongst the many projects he is currently working on bedsides his education, Ryan is also the Executive Director at the Social Justice + Engineering Initiative (SJEI) whom he founded in 2017 to honor his father William Gordon Bentz who past away after losing his battle to cancer this past September. Ryan is currently seeking research opportunities in hydrological, geotechnical, transportation, or the environmental engineering fields, he is also searching out projects that fit within the mission of SJEI. He will complete his Bachelors Degree in Mathematics in 2019 and his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering shortly thereafter. Ryan has a goal of obtaining a Ph.D in engineering & mathematics and is seeking to solve some of humanity's and the earth's most important engineering and mathematical problems with an emphasis on sustainability/permaculture, climate awareness, as well as social & environmental justice.
